Highlands Ranch boasts a vast network of trails for residents to enjoy. In addition to offering almost 70 miles of trails for walkers and bikers, said trails also connect with local natural areas, such as Bluffs Regional Park.
Covering 253 acres, Bluffs Regional Park offers extensive views of the Denver metro area, including Highlands Ranch and the Colorado mountains. Its grasslands also provide a habitat for rabbits, prairie dogs, and red foxes.
The park's Bluffs Loop Trail is a relatively easy hike of 2.7 miles and includes a couple of spur trails leading to overlooks, such as the Tepe Overlook. The trail only gains about 200 feet in height throughout and typically takes less than two hours to complete. The trailhead lies near Lincoln Ave. and RidgeGate Pkwy, and amenities include parking, a picnic shelter, and restrooms.
